X SCIENTIFIC-SPORT EXPEDITION ALONG THE WAY “FROM VARANGIANS TO GREEKS”

Organizers of the expedition:

• Sport-expeditionary club “Viking-Nevo” (Smolensk);
• International ecological organization “Clear waters of the Neva river” (St.-Petersburg).

Goals of the expedition:

• Sizing up the 10-ytears exploration of the ancient water route “from Varangians to Greeks”;
• Attracting attention of people from different countries to abilities of using the ancient route with scientific, economic, recreation and cultural purposes.

Participants of the expedition:

• Sergey Suhoruchenkov — the leader of the expedition, the chief of the Viking-Nevo club,
• Gleb Lebedev — scientific adviser of the expedition, Doctor of Historical Science, director of Research Institute of Natural and Cultural Heritage (St.-Petersburg),
• the crew of the sailing boat “Dir” — members of the Viking-Nevo club.
