2002 — Guests from Denmark in the training camp of the Viking-Nevo club

Date: May 12, 2002

A group of students from Denmark from Horsens town visited the Viking-Nevo club in May 2002. The students study at the agriculture university Bygholm Landbrugsskole and will be farmers in future. They came to get know more about the development of agriculture in Russia, to see customs and traditions of Russian people in the villages, to communicate with Russian youth. This visit to Russia was organized by Jens Foldager — leading teacher of high agriculture school in Denmark. Jens was very glad to get invitation from the Viking-Nevo club to spend a day in club’s south base in Muhanino village not far from Smolensk.

The Vikings from the Viking-Nevo club were training before next expedition at the base at same time, and Danish students decided also to try themselves in boat rowing, swimming, bow-shooting and physical exercises. Some hours were spent on the lake where everyone could swim, row and sail by training boat of the Viking-Nevo club. In the evening the nice picnic was made where future farmers tasted and praised the Smolensk potato. After the picnic-time the bow-shooting competition was organized which did not recognize the winner, so the symbolical prize, the pennon of the Viking-Nevo club was awarded to Jens Foldager, the leader of the Danish group. And before leaving the students visited the Russian banya where truly told that they had spent the one of the best days in Russia that day.
